Lumiquin cream contains Hydroquinone, a depigmenting chemical that may disrupt one or more steps in the melanin production tyrosine-tyrosinase pathway. Tretinoin acts as a keratolytic agent, while Fluocinolone acetonide acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. The mechanism of action of the active ingredients in LUMIQUIN cream in the treatment of melasma, on the other hand, remains uncertain.

LUMIQUIN cream contains corticosteroids, retinoids, and depigmenting agents and is indicated for the short-term treatment of moderate to severe melasma of the face in the presence of sun avoidance measures, such as the use of sunscreens. LUMIQUIN cream is not indicated for the long-term treatment of melasma.
